The Carp are mainly hard fighting Common Carp presently up to 23lb+ with the average fish being low to mid doubles. The Tench are from 2lb to a healthy 8lb. There are also a small number of Mirror and Ghost Carp. The lake itself spans 4 and a half acres with an island in the middle. The bottom is predominately silt with depths ranging from 18 inches to 6 foot. The lake bursts into life in very early Spring and continues well into December, With the fish showing themselves frequently. You'll have no problems locating them at all. Whether a novice or an experienced angler Welham Lake has something to offer. The lake accommodates up to 14 anglers in addition there is also a stalking area.
